Need to feel safe and secure when browsing in public and unsecured Wi-Fi hotspots? Want to be completely anonymous and free from hackers when surfing sites you can’t trust? Get the iOS or Android app for Touch VPN and get unlimited Wi-Fi and Public hotspot protection.
The UI and general design for the Touch VPN tool is quite simple, efficient and minimalistic. No unnecessary clutter and you can check the network you are on, the ingress and egress speeds and the selected private browsing location all in one window. There is a large Connect/Stop button to begin or stop the connection. You can choose a darker theme for your app. For me, the design for the iOS or Google Play app for VPN rates at a 5/5.
In terms of basic functionality, I give it a rating of 4/5. I liked the fact that the VPN period is unlimited, unlike other shields which limit how much data can be transferred within a session. Touch VPN app for all Android devices and iOS tools provides you with high-level SSL encryption, and it does all this with a simple ‘Connect’ button.
You can choose your preferred location, and this works much better than a proxy server, which provides a fake IP address but doesn’t really make you anonymous. Touch VPN not only changes the IP address and location, but it also makes you completely inaccessible by hackers and other snooping software.
Touch VPN is quite essential if you use sensitive web pages such as web banking, private email and other sites that require you to conceal your identity and IP address or where you don’t want your ISP to snoop on you. Choose servers in the US, UK, Sweden, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and Canada. The newer updates fix some crashes and other bugs which aren’t too significant.
Both the APK get and iOS versions are get-free, and there are no in-app purchases.
The Touch VPN APK is compatible with Android 4.1 or higher, and the iOS version runs on any device supporting PPTP VPN protocol. Although the PPTP protocol is slightly more outdated as compared to the more recent OpenVPN platform, it’s slightly faster and may be an appropriate alternative for mobile devices which don’t use up too much bandwidth.
Ease of Use
I give the app a rating of 4/5. The app doesn’t employ a fancy design, and though there is more sophisticated software out there, it helps where it matters. It is easy to use, with few buttons and doesn’t require expertise to operate it. Advanced users might be a bit disappointed because it doesn’t allow P2P sharing, but this is expected. I wouldn’t call it the leading app in VPN provision, but it’s efficient enough for most simple applications.
- Smooth performance;
- Unlimited bandwidth;
- Available for both Android mobile and iOS
- Servers are too few;
- Encryption isn’t too advanced;
- May keep some user logs
